Galaxy Defender Omar Gonzalez Sidelined For 2 Weeks With Knee Injury

CARSON, Calif. (AP) -- The Los Angeles Galaxy say defender Omar Gonzalez will be sidelined a week or two after injuring his left knee.

Gonzalez was injured last Saturday during a game against Colorado and left at halftime.

Galaxy spokesman Brendan Hannan said Friday that Gonzalez "tweaked" the knee and that Los Angeles coach Bruce Arena believes the defender will report on time to the U.S. national team's pre-World Cup training camp, which starts Wednesday in Stanford, Calif.

Gonzalez had surgery in January 2012 to repair a torn ligament in the knee and returned that July 4. The 25-year-old was a Major League Soccer All-Star last year.
