Funeral Held For Man Allegedly Murdered By Former LAPD Officer
MONTEREY PARK (CBSLA.com) — A funeral was held Thursday for a man allegedly murdered by former LAPD Officer Henry Solis.
Investigators believe Solis and Salome Rodriguez Jr. got into a fistfight outside of a bar in Pomona on March 13 before the 23-year-old was fatally shot.
Solis, who worked for the Los Angeles Police Department since June 2014, was linked to the crime from evidence left at the scene.
A search for him ensued after the 27-year-old did not show up for work following the incident.
Federal officials say his father, Victor Solis, drove him to El Paso, Texas and dropped him off at a bus station. He was fired from the LAPD last week and remains at large.
The FBI has offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
The service was held at 9 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, 532 South Atlantic Blvd., prior to a burial in Monterey Park.
