Fuel Truck Crashes Into American Airlines Jet At LAX; 1 Injured

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities said one person was taken to a hospital after a truck carrying fuel plowed into a parked airplane at Los Angeles International Airport.

The accident at LAX occurred at the American Airlines Gate No. 53 late Monday afternoon about 4:50 p.m., according to Sky2's Stu Mundel.

Authorities said one person, possibly the driver of the truck, had been extricated.

That person was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.

Mundel said the plane appeared to be unoccupied at the time.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
