Friday's Mega Millions Jackpot Swells To $323 Million

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —   Perhaps you forgot to buy a ticket for Wednesday's $60 million SuperLotto game or $261 million Powerball jackpot.

Don't despair.

Friday's Mega Millions game is worth $323 million.

No tickets matched all six numbers in Tuesday's draw when Mega Millions was at  a mere $303 million.

Mega Millions is played in 44 states, Washington, D.C., and the US Virgin Islands.

The $1 game is played Tuesdays and Fridays and the jackpot rolls over every time there is no winner.  The game will go to $2 in October.

At $323 million, the jackpot is the ninth highest in the game's history. The jackpot reached a record $656 million in March 2012. Three winning tickets were sold.

The $656 million pales in comparison to the record Powerball jackpot.  The highest jackpot in world history reached $1.586 billion in January 2016. Three tickets, including one sold in Chino Hills, split the top prize.
