Fresh Holiday Powder Powers Up Ski Season In The Mountains

WRIGHTWOOD (CBSLA.com) —  Ski resorts this holiday weekend are doing great business due to fresh snow, authorities said.

KCAL9's Brittney Hopper spent Saturday talking to night skiers and snowboarders in Wrightwood.

The temperatures were freezing and the wind made it feel even colder. But the very cold weather only meant more people were willing to hit the slopes.

Mountain High has night skiing -- available seven nights a week until 10 p.m. -- and many took advantage of skiing under the stars, Hopper said.

"I thought snowboarding would be fun," said one young man, "they said it was just like a skateboard and I know how to ride that."

She asked the novice if it was difficult.

"Yeah," he said, "It's a lot harder than it looks."
