Free Wi-Fi Comes To 6 Los Angeles-Area Parks, Beaches

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A pilot program launches Thursday offering free Wi-Fi in six Los Angeles parks and beaches.

The designated "hot spot" areas will be at Cabrillo Beach, Echo Park Lake, Griffith Observatory, Pershing Square, Reseda Park and Venice Beach, the Department of Recreation and Parks said.

The free service, called Oh, Ranger! Wi-Fi, is sponsored by Toyota.

Park visitors can visit m.laparks.org on their mobile devices to start using the LA Parks mobile web. The site also allows park visitors to submit service requests directly to the department's construction and maintenance division.
