Frank McCourt Wants $2M In Legal Fees From Ex-Wife

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Former Dodgers owner Frank McCourt is asking a judge to order his ex-wife to pay him nearly $2 million in legal fees after she contested their divorce settlement.

McCourt's attorneys are seeking $1.94 million in fees spent fighting a motion by Jamie McCourt to throw out a divorce settlement that gave her $131 million and several pieces of property.

A judge rejected the motion in September.

Frank McCourt's attorneys argue in a motion filed Thursday in Los Angeles that the attempt to undo the settlement was baseless and required the work of more than a dozen highly-specialized attorneys.

A phone message left for Jamie McCourt's attorney Bert Fields was not immediately returned.

The divorce was finalized in 2010, and the team was sold in 2012 for $2 billion.
