Foster Moms -- And Their Kids -- Honored At Mother's Day Event In Culver City

CULVER CITY (CBSLA.com) — Local foster moms were honored Sunday at a special event just for them and their children on Mother's Day.

Non-profit group "Foster Care Counts" sponsored the event, held in Culver City.

All mothers and their children were treated to free hair by Paul Mitchell stylists and makeup sessions from Jouer Cosmetics, and walked away with a gift bag.

Kids enjoyed carnival games, arts and crafts and entertainers. A storytelling area hosted by Better with Books gave young readers books and backpacks to take home.

Families could take home a family portrait or shop a clothing boutique filled with new and gently used apparel.

The foster families were also served a complimentary buffet lunch whipped up by a celebrity chef.
