Former Teacher, 81, Arrested On Suspicion Of Sexually Abusing 2 Females

RANCHO CUCAMONGA (CBSLA.com) — An 81-year-old former teacher from San Bernardino County was in custody Tuesday on suspicion of sexually abusing two females.

Paul Chapman was arrested Friday for lewd acts with a child, continuous sexual abuse of a child and oral copulation of a child.

Detectives started investigating him after two victims, who are family members, said he sexually abused them between the ages of 7 and 10 years old.

Investigators believe the alleged crimes took place between 2007 and 2011 at the suspect's home in Rancho Cucamonga.

Chapman was a teacher for the Chaffey Joint Union High School District between 1960 and 1997.

He was taken into custody at the West Valley Detention Center where he was being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
