Former Orange County Resident Among 9 Victims Killed In Oregon Mass Shootings

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — As authorities in Oregon on Friday announced the names of nine victims killed Thursday by a 26-year-old community college student, the family of former Orange County resident Kim Saltmarsh Dietz was already mourning her loss.

Dietz, who was 59, was a former resident of San Clemente who attended Mission Viejo High School.

More recently, she lived in Roseburg, Ore., and worked at the Pyrenees Vineyard in Myrtle Creek, Ore.

She attended Umpqua Community College along with her daughter, who was uninjured.

Dietz was remembered as a lover of the outdoors who loved her two dogs dearly.

Her husband Eric Dietz announced Friday on Facebook that she was among the victims.

"It is with deep grief in my heart that I must announce that Kim was one of the people killed yesterday at UCC," the post said.

Her family was raising money for her memorial service with GoFundMe campaign: http://cbsloc.al/1RlNDHR.
