Former Lancaster Soccer Coach Convicted Of Molesting 15 Children

LANCASTER (AP) — A former soccer coach has been convicted of molesting 15 children.

Los Angeles County prosecutors say 52-year-old Renoir Valenti was found guilty Thursday of 20 counts, including continuous child abuse. He faces a possible sentence of 154 years to life in prison.

Valenti was a coach in Lancaster with the American Youth Soccer Organization.

Prosecutors say that over nearly 17 years, Valenti — who used several aliases — molested a girl and 14 boys, including six soccer players he coached.

The victims were 8 to 12 years old.

Authorities began investigating Valenti in 2012 after a mother alleged that he'd molested her 10-year-old son.
