Fontana Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempting To Rape, Kidnap Juvenile

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — Police Monday announced the arrest of a 38-year-old man who allegedly attempted to rape and kidnap a female in Fontana.

According to the Fontana Police Department, Brandon Watkins, of Fontana, knocked on the door of a home located in the 8000 block of Mango just after 3 p.m. on July 16.

When a juvenile female answered the door, Watkins persuaded her to allow him inside of the home.

Officers said the victim's mother stopped him as he began to walk inside.

A short time later, Watkins physically assaulted the girl when he came across her in the area. Police said the victim's mother came to her rescue.

According to police, several phone calls relating to this incident provided officers with a suspect description.

Responding officers located Watkins, who subsequently matched the suspect description.

Watkins has been booked into the West Valley Detention Center on charges for attempted rape, kidnapping and burglary.
