Fleet Week Kicks Off At Port Of Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) —  It's not a full week and there isn't a full fleet, but small quibble.

Fleet Week (a four-day event) kicked off Friday at the Port of Los Angeles.

Looking for a few good men ... in uniform? Fleet Week is the event for you. It's all things nautical, military, by sea and by air.

All three ship tours are fully booked, but there is a chance for selfie lovers to get close enough to the ships to take a pic on the selfie tour. It's described as a catwalk close look at the ships with plenty of photo ops.

If you missed out on the ship tours, there will also be food trucks, aerial demonstrations, bands performing, including the Navy's 32nd Street Brass Band, a "sailor's bar" on the Battleship Iowa with Jefferson Starship slated to play Saturday evening.
