Firefighters respond to Danny Fire in Antelope Valley
Los Angeles County Fire Department units are responding to a wildfire burning in the area of 135th Street West in Antelope Valley.
The fire broke out around 2:28 p.m. Sunday. Around 3 p.m. the fire was reported to be around 850 acres.
As of 4:41 p.m., firefighters said the fire had grown to 1290 acres.
Around 3:40 p.m. the Los Angeles Fire Department tweeted that a helicopter was deployed to assist in fighting the fire.
Around 5:20 p.m. firefighters said forward progress on the fire stopped at 1,512 acres.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert in Fairmont at State Route 138 between 110th Street West and 135th Street West. All lanes in both directions will be blocked in both directions for approximately 2 hours due to the fire.
There are no reports of injuries. No structures were threatened.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
