Firefighters Rescue Cat Trapped Between 2 Block Walls

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — A 12-year-old cat put one of his lives on the line in Irvine Sunday.

Firefighters with the Orange County Fire Authority rescued the cat who got stuck between two walls.

Bailey somehow managed to get wedged between the two walls.

Rescuers had to use specialized tools with saw blades and cut through masonry to reach the stranded animal.

The rescue occurred about 2:45 p.m., authorities said.

The OCFA said Animal Control Officers were able to sedate Bailey (using a long pole with a syringe attached) before firefighters cut into the walls.

The cat was reunited with his family and then taken to Irvine Veterinary Services for a physical.
