Firefighters Rescue 22 Trapped On Stalled Ferris Wheel In Palm Desert

PALM DESERT (AP) —  Firefighters rescued 22 people who were trapped on a stalled Ferris wheel at a Southern California resort.

Fire officials say a drive cable snapped and stranded riders on the 30-foot wheel Friday night at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert.

Some people were left dangling for four hours until firefighters got them down with a ladder truck. Everybody was off the wheel by 1:45 a.m. Saturday.

Nobody was injured.
