Firefighters Extinguish Blaze At Pomona Recycling Plant

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — A large pile of plastic at a recycling plant in Pomona went up in flames on Saturday evening.

The two-alarm fire was reported just after 9 p.m. in the 1400 block of East First Street, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Robert Diaz.

About 80 firefighters were dispatched to the recycling plant, where they spent about 90 minutes extinguishing the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.

No injuries were reported.
