Firefighters Extinguish Blaze At Marijuana Dispensary In South LA

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters on Tuesday extinguished a structure fire that erupted in a one-story building in South Los Angeles.

Around 3:45 a.m., firefighters were sent to a commercial building located in the 6000 block of South Broadway at 60th Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Upon their arrival, crews located light smoke showing and heavy flames burning through the roof of a 4,600-square-foot marijuana dispensary and flooring business.

Witnesses said they heard explosions before flames appeared in the building.

According to authorities, 104 firefighters were able to contain the blaze in about 46 minutes.

Arson investigators were called to assist at the scene.

No injuries were reported.

Officials explained the building was build in 1922.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
