Firefighters Contain Slow-Moving Brush Fire In Lake Elsinore

LAKE ELSINORE (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters say a slow-moving brush fire that charred six acres near Lake Elsinore was contained overnight.

Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson says the blaze was reported Friday evening around 10:17 p.m. near Macy and Orange streets.

The fire initially burned two acres near Ortega Highway, and slowly grew to six acres by 12:17 a.m.

No structures were damaged.

The blaze was contained by 6 a.m.

Hendrickson says no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
