Firefighters Contain Reported Acid Leak In Santa Fe Springs Rail Yard

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters were on scene at a Southland rail yard Monday following reports of acid leaking from a rail car, authorities said.

Fire crews with Los Angeles County were assisting Santa Fe Springs firefighters with the hazardous-materials incident near the 11400 block of Los Nietos Road in Santa Fe Springs, county fire officials said.

There was no active leak on the ground, officials added, saying there was no hazard or threat to the public.

The incident was contained shortly after 7:30 a.m., according to the fire department.
