Firefighters Battle Blaze At Apparently Abandoned Store In Compton

COMPTON (CBSLA) — Firefighters are battling a blaze at a store that appears to be abandoned in Compton.

The fire was first reported at about 5:42 a.m. Wednesday morning at Alondra Boulevard and Atlantic. The large plume of smoke from the fire was visible from the 710 Freeway.

Video from Sky 2 shows the roof of the store was fully engulfed in flames.

The building's façade says "Vision Thrifty" and "Bargain" over the entrance, but it's unclear if the store remains in business.
