Firefighter Injured While Battling House Fire In Hacienda Heights

HACIENDA HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — A firefighter remained hospitalized Tuesday for treatment of minor injuries sustained while battling a residential fire in Hacienda Heights.

Shortly after 7 p.m. on Monday, crews were sent to the 2400 block of Via Cielo, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Upon their arrival, firefighters located the home fully engulfed in flames.

Crews were able to extinguish the blaze after about one hour.

However, escaping gas continued to burn until shortly after midnight. A utility crew capped the gas line and extinguished remaining flames.

Foam was distributed around the line to prevent the fire from spreading.

No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
