Fire Leads To Major Drug Bust In San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — A fire lead officials to discover a large-scale pot-growing operation in San Bernardino.

Firefighters this weekend responded to a call involving a vacant commercial building in the 900 block of South Arrowhead Avenue, according to the San Bernardino Fire Department.

Crews were searching for possible victims when they discovered a stash of pot.

At least 1,000 plants were found.

Investigators determined the fire was sparked by an electrical short, caused by the building's occupants attempts to steal power from Southern California Edison and overloading an electrical meter, the SBFD reported.

No one was found inside.

Police are now searching for possible suspects.
