Fire In Santa Clarita Home Ignites Nearby Brush

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — A fire that destroyed a Santa Clarita home also ignited some nearby brush Monday, according to officials.

Firefighters responded to a home near Bouquet Canyon Road and Shadow Valley Lane about noon, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The flames destroyed the house, and firefighters remained on scene to prevent the brush fire from spreading to the property on about one acre of land.

The fire was reported to be 90 percent contained as of 2:30 p.m., officials said.

There was no immediate word on what sparked the flames.
