Officials Investigating If WeHo Office Fire Was Intentionally Set
WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A two-alarm fire damaged an office building and injured two firefighters early Tuesday morning.
The fire was reported at 2:22 a.m. at 8430 Holloway Drive in West Hollywood, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.
More than 100 firefighters from the Beverly Hills and LA city departments responded to the scene to find the two-story building up in smoke.
The fire was knocked down at 3:45 a.m.
One firefighter suffered from heat exhaustion and another was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries, officials said.
The cause of the fire, which authorities believe could have been intentionally set, was under investigation by an arson team and the Los Angeles County bomb squad.
"There's three people who threw fire bombs into the front of the building," business owner Jim Mingin said one witness told him.
Officials estimate damages at $2.5 million.
