Female Passenger Killed, Male Driver Flees In Rosemead Suspected DUI Crash

ROSEMEAD (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities said a female passenger in a vehicle was killed in Rosemead on Friday evening  as the driver of another car, suspected of DUI, fled the scene.

The driver was arrested Saturday, officials said Saturday.

The crash happened on the northbound Rosemead Boulevard off-ramp from the eastbound side of the freeway, said California Highway Patrol Officer Jennifer Cassidy.

The female passenger died at a hospital, Cassidy said. The driver also had major injuries, Cassidy said.

The suspect driver was arrested at home and booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, she said.

According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the vehicles ended up down an embankment following the crash.
