Felony Assault Suspect Barricades Self Inside Of LA Home

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Deputies Wednesday were on the scene of a barricade situation at a home in Los Angeles.

Around 6:45 a.m., authorities were sent to a residence located in the 40100 block of 178th Street at Eastlake Avenue for report of an armed barricaded suspect.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, a male suspect  is believed to be armed within the home, and is wanted for committing an assault with a deadly weapon.

Authorities said he has a history of previous arrests.

A SWAT team was called to assist at the scene.

Deputies reported 12 people have exited the home. They are working with the suspect to safely surrender.

Residents in the immediate area have been evacuated.

No injuries have been reported.
