Father, Son Sentenced For Deadly OC Jewelry Store Robbery

SANTA ANA (AP) — A father and son have been sentenced for their role in a botched jewelry store heist in Orange County that left two robbers dead.

City News Service says Eddie Clark Sr. and Eddie Clark Jr. were each given 10 years in prison Friday.

Both pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and other charges.

Authorities say they were part of a crew that tried to rob Monaco Jewelers in San Juan Capistrano in 2011. The owner pulled a gun and shot two robbers.

Two other robbers were convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced last month to 30 years to life in prison.

A third man pleaded guilty to robbery and assault with a semiautomatic weapon. He's expected to receive more than 12 years in prison.
