Fatal Crash Splits Car In Half In Santa Fe Springs

SANTA FE SPRINGS (CBSLA.com) — Police Thursday were investigating a fatal crash that split a car in half in Santa Fe Springs.

The accident happened shortly after 1 :40 a.m. at Smith Avenue and Norwalk Boulevard, Whittier police said.

The vehicle was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit a light pole and was sheared in two.

The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.
