Fans Welcome GNR Back To The Jungle

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — The marquis at the Troubadour was proof Friday that a Guns N' Roses reunion was no April Fool's joke.

Betty Rodriguez and her friend jumped on a plane after they caught wind of the surprise concert.

"So, we left San Francisco at 7:30 yesterday evening, got here about 1 a.m.," she said.

The old Tower Records on the Sunset Strip was where die-hard fans tried to get wrist bands for the $10 tickets.

Michael Torres was the first in line Thursday evening.

"This is going to be the best show ever," he said.

Frank Peralta and his friend drove up from San Diego on Thursday evening.

After they were a shoo-in, they took a couple of cat naps at a library and a park.

"We just laid out some blankets, just crashed on the grass," Peralta said.

While the Troubadour can only hold about 500 people, a few got to see the sound check through the front window.

This is first time singer Axl Rose and guitarist Slash were together on stage since 1993.

Hardcore fans say you can't put a price on that.

"I've gotten offered between a $1,000 and 15-hundred," one fan said.

"I got offered three thousand," another fan said. And I said absolutely not!"
