Family Tied-Up In Scary Rowland Heights Home Invasion

ROWLAND HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — Several suspects broke into a home in Rowland Heights, tied-up the family, and robbed the house, but no one was injured, according to a sheriff's sergeant and news videographer at the scene.

The robbery took place at a home in the 1400 block of Annadel Avenue just after 9 p.m., according to a sheriff's sergeant.

There was no available description of the suspects, the sergeant said.

He refused to discuss any details of the break-in, and to provide information about what happened to the family or what was stolen.

CBS2's Greg Mills says the homeowners were equally tight-lipped.

He spoke to a man who said he wasn't comfortable speaking English.

Mills asked him if he was okay. "Yeah," he said, "I'm okay."

The Sheriff's Department told Mills the man and his wife were tied-up and the three men who committed the robbery all had their faces covered.

After the bad guys fled, the woman who was tied-up (and Mills was told she was very petite) climbed over a fence and ran to a neighbor's door to get help.

The couple was treated on scene by LA County Fire Paramedics.

Neighbors told Mills the couple was clearly shaken by their ordeal. In fact, the entire neighborhood was on edge.

The first thing a young girl said to Mills was, "I'm scared."

Earlier this week, neighbors said there was an attempted break-in on a home nearby around 3 a.m.

"I don't know why it's been happening now, but it's a little scary," said neighbor Ailene Geer.

The Sheriff's Department later told Mills the wannabe robbers left without any money or jewelry.
