Family Of Hit-And-Run Victim Pleads For Break In Case
SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The family of a woman dragged to her death by a hit-and-run driver is begging someone to give police the break they need.
Maria Covarrubias, 79, was crossing Western Avenue at 79th Street in South L.A. on Sept. 14.
She had a green light when she started, but detectives think it may have turned red before she made it across.
Security video shows a black Chevy Avalanche hitting her and dragging her hundreds of feet.
A $50,000 reward has been offered by the city. If you have any information, please call the LAPD.
