Facebook Users Report Problems With Social Network's Messenger App, Basketball Game

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Facebook users on Monday morning reported having issues with the social networking site's messenger app and March Madness-inspired basketball game.

Many users were having problems playing the newly introduced basketball game that operates within the social network's messenger app, according to messages on Downdetector.com.  Others reported problems loading photos in their newsfeeds.

Thousands of users were affected, CBS San Francisco reported.

A map of site outages on Downdetector.com showed a hotspot of outages over Southern California.

The cause of the problems was not immediately known.
