Ex-San Bernardino Officer Found Guilty In Sex Abuse Case

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — A former San Bernardino policeman who forced two prostitutes to perform sex acts while he was in uniform has been convicted of civil rights violations.

Prosecutors say 46-year-old Jose Perez of Menifee was found guilty Wednesday of federal charges. Jurors also found that the offenses involved kidnapping, sexual abuse and bodily injury.

He's facing a potential life sentence.

The women testified that in 2011, Perez forced them to have sex in vehicles and hotel rooms.
