Ex-FBI Agent Accused Of Pocketing Cash During Drug Raids

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Federal prosecutors say a former FBI special agent is accused of stealing more than $100,000 while executing search warrants during drug investigations in California.

The U.S. attorney's office said Thursday that Scott M. Bowen faces charges including conversion of federal property, obstruction of justice, money laundering and witness tampering.

Investigators say the 44-year-old Bowen pocketed cash found after search warrants were served on three occasions last June and August.

The Moreno Valley resident is accused of using the money to buy two cars, a lavish Las Vegas vacation and cosmetic surgery for his wife.

A number for Bowen could not immediately be found.
