According to airport officials, an electrical panel burned out at the security checkpoint around 5 p.m. in Terminal A, causing delays for passengers traveling on Southwest, Jet Blue and U.S. Airways flights.

Passengers were taken to Terminal B to go through TSA screening and were then bused back to Terminal A.

Officials advised there may be additional delays for passengers scheduled to travel through the terminal.

Authorities explained the outage was weather-related.

Repairs to the panel are expected to take about three hours, airport officials explained.

Officials hope to have the terminal back up and running by Wednesday morning.
