Elderly Woman Using Walker Struck, Killed In Ontario

ONTARIO (CBSLA) – An elderly woman using a walker was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Ontario Tuesday night.

According to Ontario police, the woman was walking in the area of Holt Boulevard and Virginia Avenue at around 7:52 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle. The driver then fled the scene.

Ontario police say no one saw who hit the elderly woman or how it happened and have no description of the car or driver involved in the hit and run.

Police said the woman was placed in an ambulance, but died from her injuries on the way to the hospital.

Although the victim's identity is known, the coroner will not release it until her relatives have been told.

Detectives are searching security camera footage from a social security office across the street from where the accident happened.
