Elderly Woman Injured In Van Nuys Shooting; Suspect Remains At Large

VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — Police were on the scene of a shooting Thursday that injured an elderly woman in Van Nuys.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were sent around 12:45 p.m. to the 14000 block of Haynes Street for report of shots fired.

When authorities arrived to the scene, they located an elderly female who suffered from an apparent gunshot wound to her leg.

Paramedics transported her to a hospital for treatment.

No other injuries were reported.

At this time, no suspect description has been provided.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
