Elderly Woman Injured During Home Invasion Robbery In Torrance

TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — Detectives on Friday searched for a man who robbed an elderly woman at her home in Torrance.

According to the Torrance Police Department, officers were sent shortly after midnight to a home located in the 4100 block of Carmen Street for report of a home invasion robbery.

Upon their arrival, authorities located an elderly woman who sustained minor bruises on her wrist during the incident.

Paramedics were called to the scene, however, the victim was not transported.

A preliminary investigation revealed a male suspect broke into the home, which startled the elderly woman as she was asleep.

At one point, the suspect held the victim's wrist, but she was not struck.

The man fled from the front door of the home with unknown items and money, police said.

Detectives described the suspect as an adult man who wore dark clothing.

According to police, this is the first incident that has occurred at this home.
