Ed Sullivan Statue Recovered By LAPD Detectives

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) Detectives with the LAPD's North Hollywood division have recovered the stolen Ed Sullivan statue pilfered Sunday at the Television Academy.

The statue, worth more than $40,000, was found in "good condition," authorities said.

No further details were provided.

Police said their investigation remains active and "ongoing."

The solid bronze statue was taken from atop its pedestal at the Television Academy's Hall of Fame plaza located in the 5200 block of Lankershim Boulevard.

The statue weighs about 20 pounds and stands little more than a foot and a half tall.
