DUI Suspect Kills Bicyclist In Pomona

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — Police arrested a 25-year-old man from Chino Hills after he reportedly rear-ended and killed a bicyclist Saturday in Pomona.

Rick Kyujin Lee of Chino Hills was taken into police custody on suspicion of drunken driving, causing death and vehicular manslaughter, according to Pomona police Cpl. J.T. Garcia.

At 2:32 a.m, Lee allegedly was traveling northbound on Garey Avenue, south of Lexington Avenue, when his white 2011 BMW struck an unidentified bicyclist.

Paramedics were called and treated the bicyclist at the scene.

The man, described to be in his 40s or 50s, was transported to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.

"Evidence at the collision led officers to suspect Lee was under the influence of alcohol while driving," Garcia said.
