Ducks Edge Kings In Preseason Showdown

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — The Anaheim Ducks defeated the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 on Friday in the NHL's Preseason.

Stefan Noesen started the scoring for the Ducks by getting one past Jonathan Quick in the 2nd period.

Kings forward Trevor Lewis answered with a shorthanded goal in the 2nd period, but with just six seconds remaining in the period, Patrick Maroon scored for the Ducks to put them up 2-1.

This would end up being the final score as the Kings fell to 1-1-1 on the preseason.

The Ducks improved to 1-0-1 in the preseason.

The Kings had 25 shots on goal compared to the Ducks 30.

The Ducks led the Kings in hits, face-offs won, and takeaways.

The Kings will travel to Colorado to take on the Avalanche on Sunday, Sept. 27th at 8:00 p.m. ET, while the Ducks will go to San Jose to take on the Sharks on Saturday at 9:00 p.m. ET
