Ducks Acquire Fleischmann From The Panthers

According to CBSSports.com, the Anaheim Ducks have traded Dany Heatley and a 2015 3rd round pick to the Florida Panthers in exchange for Tomas Fleischmann. Heatley has appeared in just 6 games this season for the Ducks never recording a point. He will report to the Panthers minor league affiliate in San Antonio.

Fleischmann has played 52 games for the Panthers this year, recording 21 points on 7 goals and 14 assists. In his NHL career, he's scored 122 goals and added 181 assists over the course of 11 seasons. He will be re-united with Bruce Boudreau in Anaheim who coached him early in his career when he came up with the Washington Capitals.

The Ducks currently sit atop the Pacific division with 85 points and are second overall in the Western Conference four points back of the Nashville Predators who lead the league with 89 points. The Ducks will be back on the ice tomorrow on the road against the Dallas Stars.
