Drowning Victim Spotted By Passersby In Newport Beach

NEWPORT BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a man has apparently drowned in Newport Beach.

Newport Beach police Sgt. Brandon Rodriguez told City News Service that the incident was reported to authorities after passersby spotted the man's body.

He was found in the area of 32nd Street and Oceanfront around 1 a.m. Saturday.

The sergeant said the passersby pulled the man out from the water and administered CPR but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, police say the circumstances surrounding the man's death do not appear suspicious.
