This Drone Helped Rescue Stranded Hikers Quicker Than Ground Crew Ever Could

PIKE NATIONAL FOREST, Colo. (CBSLA.com) — A drone is being credited with helping a search-and-rescue team find two missing hikers in Colorado.

The unmanned aerial vehicle scanned thousands of square miles of the Pike National Forest in search of the hikers this weekend.

The hikers were located in just two hours.

Authorities say the drone scanned the area much faster than the ground crew ever could.
