Driver Mows Down Man Outside Federal Building In Laguna Niguel

LAGUNA NIGUEL (CBSLA.com) — A motorist possibly disgruntled with the government struck a man outside a federal building in Laguna Niguel Thursday, raising security concerns.

About 4:30 p.m., a police cruiser was chasing a car toward the Chet Holfield Federal Building at 24000 Avila Road, according to witnesses.

The vehicle made it through the concrete barriers and hit a federal employee, possibly a security guard, in the back of the federal building. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital with unknown injuries.

The suspect was arrested. Witnesses said they saw him scoping out the parking lot earlier in the day and was asked to leave.

The bomb squad searched the suspect's car but found no explosives, authorities said.
