Driver Killed After Crashing Into Parked Vehicle In WeHo

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Crews Monday were on the scene of a fatal traffic collision in West Hollywood.

Deputies were sent just before 7 a.m. to Sunset Boulevard for report of a solo vehicle crash, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department West Hollywood Station.

Upon their arrival, paramedics transported one victim to Cedars Sinai Hospital in serious condition where they later died. The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.

No other injuries were reported.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim crashed their car into a parked vehicle.

"To allow for a traffic investigation, Sunset Boulevard is closed between Olive Drive and Sweetzer Avenue," explained Capt. Gary Honings.

The area is expected to reopen around 9 a.m., authorities said.
