Driver Arrested, Another Injured In Fiery Crash That Shuts Down SB 405 Freeway

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A motorist was arrested and another rushed to a hospital following a fiery crash in LA Friday night which temporarily closed the southbound 405 Freeway.

The collision occurred shortly before 4 a.m. at Santa Monica Boulevard, California Highway Patrol Officer Jennifer Cassidy said.

The driver of an SUV was transported to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Witnesses describe the vehicles as being fully engulfed in flames.

Southbound lanes of the freeway were closed for around 80 minutes after the collision.
