Dozens Protest What They're Calling Unsafe Crosswalks In West Hollywood

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A group of West Hollywood residents held a protest Sunday afternoon demanding safer crosswalks.

Dozens of people gathered at the corner of Hancock and Santa Monica Boulevard, where a man was killed crossing the street last week.

Residents say four others have been fatally struck by vehicles at crosswalks in the area.

Neighbors organized a citizens safety campaign and went to the city in February to complain.

They say officials promised to put money towards safer crosswalks but nothing has been done.

Residents are pushing the city to add lights to the crosswalks and signs that urge drivers to slow down.
