Dozens Of Skiing Santas Hit The Slopes At Mountain High For Good Cause

WRIGHTWOOD (CBSLA.com) — About two inches of fresh snow welcomed dozens of skiing Santas to the slopes in the Wrightwood area Sunday for a good cause.

The resort Mountain High said skiers and snowboarders donning Santa Claus costumes participated in the fundraiser for Protect Our Winters.

POW aims to engage the snow sports community in leading the fight against climate change, according to the group's website.

According to the resort, participants made at a minimum a $20 donation to POW and received a complimentary lift ticket.

The event is in its inaugural year, but the resort plans to make it an annual event, according to Patrick Pierce, a public relations manager.

Mountain High is located about 1 ½ hours from Los Angeles and Orange County.
